Medifast Meals: Great for those with type 2 diabetes
According to the National Institutes of Health, more than 65 percent of American adults are overweight or obese. Furthermore, the obesity rate has been climbing steadily over the last several years.
In direct correlation to the rise in obesity is the rise in incidence of Type Two Diabetes. The good news is that healthy weight loss can dramatically slow the progression of this disease.
Medifast is clinically proven to help you control your weight while you manage your type 2 diabetes.
Researchers released the results of a weight-loss study that found that after 34 weeks, diabetic participants using Medifast’s portion-controlled meal replacement program lost twice as much weight and were twice as likely to complete the study as participants following a standard food diet based on the dietary guidelines of the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Also, after 34 weeks, 24 percent of the Medifast users decreased or eliminated their diabetes medication, compared to zero percent on the standard food diet.
Medifast Plus for Diabetics, a diabetic diet plan, has been specifically formulated to make losing weight safe and effective.
Not only is it easy for diabetics to lose weight with the Medifast Program but many also decreased or eliminated their diabetes medication.
Medifast, an aid to Diabetics
For diabetic diets, not even the American Diabetes Association can beat Medifast, according to the findings of a study from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as published in the January/February issue of The Diabetes Educator, the official journal of the ADA.
The Medifast diabetic diet plan had twice the effectiveness of the diet recommended by the American Diabetes Association. The study also suggests that the meal replacements for diabetic diets may achieve the same outcomes as bariatric surgery but without the increased risks of morbidity and mortality associated with such risky treatments.
The Medifast plan has been so effective that, unlike the other diabetic diets out there, some on the plan have even eliminated their need for diabetes medication.
A study that compared Medifast’s weight control effectiveness in people with type 2 diabetes to the standard ADA diet showed that participants who received the Medifast diabetic diet plan lost twice as much weight and were twice as likely to stay on the diet. Forty percent of participants on Medifast lost over 5% of their weight while only 12% on the ADA diet lost as much. Also, 24% of the Medifast users decreased or eliminated their need for diabetes medication whereas the ADA percentage on that was zero.
Since 1980, more than 15,000 physicians have recommended the Medifast diet, and over one million customers can attest to the program’s health and wellness benefits. Out of all the diabetic diets, Medifast is the only diabetic diet plan that has been clinically proven to combat diabetes in a safe and effective manner. Therefore, if you have type 2 diabetes and/or are overweight, and are looking for an effective diet that can help you lose weight and combat diabetes, then the Medifast diabetic diet plan is the plan for you.
Medifast provides the proper nutrition for people with type 2 diabetes, while allowing healthy weight loss. Be sure to discuss calorie levels with your doctor before beginning a Medifast Program.
