You know what I heard a health coach say the other night?
“Forget everything you’ve ever learned about dieting because it’s not working”
The operative word here being “diet” because diet has a beginning and an end. Take Shape For Life is a continuum based on principles of nutrition and habits of health. The vast majority of those who discover our program do so because they need to lose weight but those who are able to shed their conceptions about dieting are able to never, ever diet again. We are not like any other program out there, truly we are not, and as such we can be misunderstood.
CARS

My 4 year old son, Nico
My 4 year old son, Nico, is fanatical about cars. He’s got nearly 300 little cars (Matchbox, Hot Wheels, etc.) and when he plays Legos he usually builds a car. I was really into cars as a teenager so I can relate and we have a lot of fun together.
Last night on our training call the health coach who said “forget everything you know about dieting” also used a metaphor I can totally appreciate. Cars need fuel and oil to run. For us the fuel is food and oil is water and the engine is our metabolism. There are clinical studies proving we run optimally when fueled every 3 hours. We also require water in sufficient amounts to run efficiently and to properly burn calories. So if your car is sluggish, out of tune or just running poorly then your body really can’t burn calories the way it was designed to nor do you have the energy you should have at your age.
The formula to get back on track is pretty simple. When you give the body what it needs to run optimally it will rid itself of what it doesn’t need, which is your excess fat. You will also increase your energy and performance levels. You’ll be what Nico calls a “fast car!” And you’ll live longer too.
The Cost Of Keeping Track
Do you realize that keeping on track will result in you spending less money and getting healthy faster?
You wouldn’t want to struggle or waffle on this program nor do would you want to spend more money than needs be. Even if you think of yourself as already healthy but just carrying around an extra (fill in the blank) pounds, please consider the fast car.
Extra pounds will bring you down, slowing your metabolism and potentially causing harm for your health in the future. You have the power to be proactive in your own health management. And you’ll be better at the things you like doing. When you pit the cost of the program against the cost of what you’d eat instead, plus medications you may be on, plus lack of productivity due to inefficiency, plus physical and mental stresses, plus all that other stuff, it really doesn’t stack up. I know a lot of people are struggling financially right now but in the proper context, the financial cost of keeping on track is far less than keeping on heavy.
